April / May: Under the Fields of Heaton Snowdrop Guerrilla Planting.  Planting of snowdrop bulbs in 75 nearby sites for the 75 lost underground. The flowering of the bulbs in February 2016 signifying the laying to rest of the final bodies in the early months of  1816.

Sunday 5^th July: Under the Fields of Heaton ’ The Heaton Main Music Suite’ at the Ouseburn Festival. Outside Cluny 12.15pm and  outside Cumberland Arms at 2.15pm. Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear NE1 2PA. Massed choirs bands and dancers perform a suite of 6 songs and instrument pieces, specially written to commemorate the Heaton Main Mining Disaster 200th Anniversary. Week commencing 4th January 2016 ‘Under the Fields of Heaton’ Lantern Making Workshops.  75 lanterns being made by Heaton residents  and schools to carry in the February 10th Lantern Event.  Next workshop Sat 6th February 10am – noon, High Heaton Library.
